Dynamic web cache publishing for IaaS clouds using Shoal
We have developed a highly scalable application, called Shoal, for tracking and utilizing a distributed set of HTTP web caches. Our application uses the Squid HTTP cache. Squid servers advertise their existence to the Shoal server via AMQP messaging by running Shoal Agent. The Shoal server provides a simple REST interface that allows clients to determine their closest Squid cache. Our goal is t...

متن کاملSchlouder: A broker for IaaS clouds
In the field of cloud computing, Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) provides virtualized on-demand computing resources on a pay-per-use model. IaaS Cloud differ from traditional mutualized infrastructures in that the resources can be dynamically claimed and released, and the real hardware infrastructure is unknown to its users. These properties drastically changes the way resource provisioning ...
متن کاملPerformance Analysis for Large IaaS Clouds
IaaS clouds are major enablers of data-intensive cloud applications because they provide necessary computing capacity for managing Big Data environments. In a typical IaaS cloud, virtual machine (VM) instances deployed on physical machines (PM) are provided to the users for their computing needs. Recently, IaaS cloud providers are realizing that merely providing the basic functionalities for Bi...
